O Holy Night – Trombone Choir
O Holy Night was composed in 1847 by Adolphe Charles Adam, a graduate of the Paris Conservatoire who wrote or co-wrote more than 50 ballets, operas and musical scores. The lyrics to this familiar carol were written by a commissioner of wine who was asked to write a poem for the Christmas Eve service. His poem was titled “Cantique de Noël” and Adolphe Adam was asked to write the music. This carol was the first song ever played over the radio and remains a favorite carol to this day.
This arrangement is in a soft rock style that will add both contrast and color to your Christmas concerts.
