  • Pomp and Circumstance March – Brass Quintet

Sir Edward Elgar's Trio (Procession) from Pomp and Circumstance is an unabashed piece of “gig music.” This arrangement attempts to go easy on the trumpets – a useful feature when a large graduation class calls for multiple repeats of the movement.

  • Rondo – Brass Quintet

The Rondo is from Horn Concerto No. 4 in E-flat, k.495, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The request for a brass quintet version was for a concert commemorating a horn player. This arrangement features all of the instruments, not just the horn, and will add a classical moment to your program.

  • Sheep May Safely Graze – Woodwind Quintet

J.S. Bach wrote the Hunting Cantata, BWV 208 to celebrate the birthday of one of his patrons, Duke Christian of Saxe-Weissenfels. It is a secular cantata which contains the aria, Schafe könen sicher weiden (Sheep may safely graze.) This aria has become one of Bach’s most enduring pieces. The aria is sung by Pales, Roman deity of shepherds and is meant as a tribute to the Duke’s beneficence. This arrangement fashions a popular Baroque piece into an effective offering for the instruments of the woodwind quintet.
